Standard QR hub ends

P1030410_2
Old and new front 9 mm QR and the standard hub cap end and the bored out end to take the 9 mm QR

P1030411_2
Bored out cap end back in place.

P1030413
Refitted to the forks

P1030416_2
On the rear hub I had to bore out the end caps and also drill out the centre spindle to let the 10 mm QR fit into it. I have made 3 tools up so I can strip and rebuild the rear hub. I just need to ride the bike to test it out.

Light beam shots

P1030238_3

This is my 2 Ayups light which are 640 lumen total

P1030239_4
This is the Deben Phantom 700 lumen light on the max setting and I like this as either a bar light or best as a helmet light.
The circle of light is the beam cut off which shows up more on the 900 more below.

P1030240_3
This is the Deben Phantom 900 lumen light which is on the max setting and is really a bar light but I have run it with no problems on a helmet mounting.
I have not been running either of the Deben light on the max setting most of the time as I fine there is more than enough light when they are set lower on the adjustable second setting which is very good in fog..

Deben Tracer Phantom 900 and 700 lumen lights

P1010256

The larger 900 light  which is very good when fitted to the bars.

P1010258

The Phantom 700 light which I found works very well when fitted to the helmet mount I have made up and I found I could turn it well down in power on the adjustable second setting and still have a very ridable light output with a good beam pattern. I have been using the extension lead as well so the battery can be in your pocket  out of the way.

P1010259

700

P1010260

900 fits in the mount but I have not yet been able to see how it works or the extra weight feels on my head. When I have had this on the bar I have been using it a lot on  the adjustable second setting turned down either following some one or in the fog so you do not get to much light coming back to you.

P1010611

After about 10 miles lower mounting was covered in mud but would be good in the dry . I have not found either of the mounts get in the way of my leg .
